Kevin Hart Hosting Saturday Night Live Recap | Dec 16 Recap

Listen to the Podcast

Rich Tackenberg and Mike Bloom give their thoughts on this week’s episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Kevin Hart with musical guest Foo Fighters.

Before listening, I have to assume this was the worst of the season, no contest.

It was never said outright in the podcast but this was the worst of the season, if not all of 2017 for SNL you were too kind. I wish Mike would tell us his ratings since he doesn’t post them on Twitter anymore.
I’d also like to know what constitutes an “Ahh Boy,” sketch because that bear sketch had it in spades.
Making Jost and Che part of the head writers when you’ve just released the most poorly written television episode in 2017 is like declaring a new captain when the Titanic is just hit the iceberg.
Really hope this was the worst episode for years to come and Kevin Hart never hosts again.

There is no way Kevin Hart’s monolgue was funnier than Larry David’s. Larry’s was offensive but was still funny. Where as Kevin’s monologue was old in the 80’s. To even compare the two is an insult to comedy. Shocked Rich is a fan of Kevin Hart. He is a movie killer.

    • i thought the two monologues were similiar in comedic value, I just thought that Hart’s monologue was more polished and better thought out.
That said, i’ve never seen a Kevin Hart movie.

      • Matthew Murphy

Fair enough. I’ve only seen him in Scary Movie 3 and didn’t know it was him until years later. He has good comedic chops, but the writing just wasn’t there for him that night.
