The Walking Dead | Season 8, Episode 11 Recap – “Dead or Alive or”

Rob Cesternino & Jessica Liese recap the “Dead or Alive or”, Season 8, Episode 11 of “The Walking Dead”

  • Jennifer Stewart

Why was Eugene so mean to Negan’s wife at the machine shop? I feel like I missed something.

    • Pink Pearl

Is “nice” ever Eugene’s default setting? He seems to have trouble establishing social cues so he gets them from whatever he’s told about people. So I think he was told she was there to serve him, therefore he treats her like a servant.

    • TrentC

Maybe it was some sort of subterfuge because he understood she was trying to snuggle up to him? It was so abrupt I’d like to think he’s still a good guy and trying to prevent something from happening to her.

Or, he was real nervous recognizing she is part of Negan’s stable of wives and didn’t want to invoke his anger.

  • Matthew Murphy

Tara is really making a claim for worst character on the show this week. She’s almost an honourary member of the Clarke family at this point.

    • Pink Pearl

If only she was going to be the crossover character…

      • TrentC

Did you see Fleet Footed Tara keeping up with Dwight in the forest?

        * I should listen to the podcast in case you guys have covered some of these things, brb

        • Matthew Murphy

Hah yeah I’m gonna listen in an hour or two but it was insane how quickly she caught up to him. Why kill him when he has more intel on the Saviors than anyone is beyond me.

  • TrentC

Is Maggie even a little bit pregnant?

    • Matthew Murphy

At this point I think she just used a fluke pregnancy test.

      • TrentC

They’ve got to start explaining something. She’s been pregnant now for about 186 weeks real time and it’s not a minor plot point. The actress looks like she’s lost a bit of weight since last season to add to the confusion.

        • Matthew Murphy

Plus she’s grown her hair out since the show announced she wasn’t pregnant so it’s not like time is standing still.

    • J-me not Hi-me

She totally cradled her stomach before looking over at Gracie. I believe on TV that’s second only to morning puking as a signifier of pregnancy. 🙂

  • Matthew Murphy

This is more related to last week but Aaron was awful quick to stay at Oceanside. Didn’t he just adopt a baby? Don’t be adopting kinds if you’re just gonna run off a couple days later.

    • Bry_Lander

Adoption etiquette is a little sketchy in the zombie apocalypse…

      • Matthew Murphy

At least little Gracie will be going to school by the time Maggie gives birth.

  • WHATROBWILLNOTSAY

I DVR the episodes and fast forward through only stopping if I see a significant development. I didn’t see one this week.

I’m counting on RHAP to keep me up to date.

Dr. Carson and Father Gabriele are sitting out in the middle of nowhere having a conversation in a car, with the prospect of either walkers or Saviors finding them and killing them at any moment. Given that, don’t you pay a little more attention to noises you hear outside? “Did you hear something?” “Nah…” What?? It is like they are sitting out in one of their driveways pre-ZA having a casual chat without a care in the world; meanwhile, there is a flesh-eating monster dragging itself to the vehicle. Shouldn’t even the slightest noise be taken very seriously and cause an extreme amount of anxiety at this point?
