I thought part of Kim’s decision related to the previous conversation with Howard. She wanted to prove to the world that she wasn’t a junior associate any more and that she could handle both clients. Maybe the coldness that she felt from Jimmy in that moment was what tipped the scales, or maybe she was willing to take at face value that Jimmy was actually getting his shit together and she wouldn’t have to dedicate as much time to helping him get through this period of his life. Or it could be the opposite, that she saw right through him and suspected that his scheming was going to lead him to a bad place, and that she’d need the extra money to be able to weather the storm.

Although that leads to the related question of whether she believes the injury was legitimate or if she suspects he pulled a con. If it’s the latter I would have expected her to blow up, because pulling cons could cost Jimmy everything as it would violate the terms of his suspended sentence and he’d lose his license for good. So I don’t think she knows, but she’s bound to find out very soon and that will be a very big source of conflict.

If you consider episode titles spoilers don’t read: The title of the finale is Lantern, so that tracks with the queasy feeling that something is going to befall Chuck.

i think you are right. Kim saw right through him. She knew she would need more money. I think at this point she realizes that she can’t trust or rely on him anymore. Maybe a turning point in their relationship.

Question- who’s body was Mike uncovering? Why did he know a body would be in the desert right in the area? Thank you

    • turgid_legume

The body was the Good Samaritan who stopped to assist the tied-up driver of the ice cream truck that Mike robbed, and who was killed by Hector to ensure that law enforcement would never be alerted to his smuggling tactics. Mike got the location from Nacho (who handled the burial and cleanup on Hector’s orders) as a condition of the pill deal, having being convinced that the man’s family needed closure after hearing the story of the woman in the support group who never found her husband’s body.

Wow thank you so much, make sense now, I need to listen better to the show! lol..I was hoping the guys would talk about it but they never did 😉

I think you’re probably joking…but Antonio did give us an explanation. If it wasn’t for him and turgid_legume I wouldn’t know who the body was either.

And related, Mike makes another anonymous call. He needs to be careful as his voice is distinctive…it sounds just like Rob Cesternino.

I don’t think it was supposed to be ambiguous at all about whether that guy was going to see his kid in the hospital. The dude had money strapped to his leg and was jovial with someone on the phone after. 100% was dealing or buying drugs.
