I can understand some of the gripes for this season, but I think it’s more of too much going on without an ending in sight. Some of which has carried over from Season 5. There’s definitely a lot of good stuff in there though. For this episode for instance I love the introduction of Randyll Tarly. If the TV show fails in one area, in some respects, it’s the introduction of new characters or periphery characters that give weight/assistance to the main characters. The Tower of Black and White is a big one for me, in that it is let down by the lack of more periphery characters.
