the tyrion/sansa marriage not consummated. So not an issue… was mentioned in Bolton/littlefinger convo.

    • A drawback of the show having to whitewash a lot of stuff is something like that could be easily missed. I remember in the books basically every conversation between Tywin and Tyrion after their wedding included something along the lines of “have you bedded Sansa yet?”…”no, I won’t force her to”…”well, you have to otherwise we’ll never get Winterfell”

      • Yeah, good call. I am LITERALLY (can I use that if I listen to the audiobooks) up to that part in A Storm of Swords.

So I’m not a book reader, so this is not a spoiler, but rather speculation.

THEORY. Jon Snow is NOT Eddard’s son – He’s the son of Ned Stark’s sister and Raegar.

So the promise she makes Ned keep is to pretend that Jon Snow is his son. So essentially Jon Snow is actually one of the possible King’s since he’s a Targarean/Stark. Ultimately I find it hard to believe that Dani and Jon Snow are not the ultimate couple of this whole thing. The books are called “A Song of Ice and Fire”.

    • Brendan Fitzpatrick

      R+L=J. It is known.

  • LosPollosHermanos

On a show usually full of great acting performances – the Sand Snakes REALLY stood out as cheesy.

    I hope they get better.

  • LosPollosHermanos

Meryn Trant is going on a trip to Braavos.

    This is gonna be good.

  • LosPollosHermanos

I think the show IS simplifying the motivations for arming the Faith Militants, Rob. I think you’re right to feel that way.

In the books, part of the motivation also is that the High Septon uses some of church money to pay part of their debt to the Iron Bank.

I think in the show it can also be implied that allying with the Sparrows who are gaining support among the common people of Kings Landing also is an attempt to gain more legitimacy and support for Tommen’s (the Lannisters in general) increasingly maligned reign.

    • LosPollosHermanos

Also – Cersei is kind of a complete mess right now. Her life is totally turned upside down and she is desperate.

I think it is correct to see this go down and read it as a big overplay by Cersei.

  • LosPollosHermanos

Why did Rob think there would be a backlash? It’s a fictional fundamentalist group. The show isn’t supporting their homophobic views at all.

  • LosPollosHermanos

Mel mentions to Jon that between the two of them comes light and SHADOWS.

Mel trying to make another shadow baby

  • LosPollosHermanos

Oberyn wasn’t fighting FOR Tyrion as much as he was fighting to kill the Mountain.

Oberyn also stabbed random Lannisters in the brothel just for singing Rains of Castamere.

THe Lannister hate runs strong in Dorne

  • LosPollosHermanos

I enjoyed the longing look Jamie gave towards the Sapphire Isle (Tarth)

I hope Jamie and Brienne have a reunion before it’s all said and done.

Cersei’s thinking is deeply flawed, as Rob astutely points out, but her thinking is that by arming the Faith she can establish a power base independent of her son, who is basically a Tyrell minion now.

    • It’s deeply flawed, but it’s so Cersei. Only Cersei would have the delusion of grandeur that she could control faith itself.

  • Dorne’s bloodlust for the Lannisters is completely justified. I’m surprised that it could be interpreted differently.

  • Its Me

I just started listening to Book 1 on audiobook. Don’t judge, it was free from LivingSocial haha. ANYWAYS, so I am not a book reader but I’ve heard the theory about R+L=J. I just finished the chapter that described the different direwolves and that they were meant for each of the children.

They described Jon’s as albino..possibly another hint because it has white hair like a Targaryen? They also said that out of all the other pups, this was the only one that dared to open its eyes and see. Interesting!

PS. Is Jon’s direwolf the only one that is still alive in the show?
