Re: why is Stannis attacking from the North? From the North he’s farthest from Lannister reinforcements and b) he’s planning on being ‘greeted as liberators’ in Winterfell and expecting them to have a common enemy in the Lannisters. At least that’s how I saw it

  • Come to Australia Josh! You’ll have a pretty decent shot at becoming Prime Minister and we’ll put your bronze statue right next to the one of the guy that bought Kimmi Kappenberg’s underwear for 50 bucks.

  • hockeyfan182

Maybe the Littlefinger’s young man is Young Griff 😉

  • hockeyfan182

Littlefinger has now 3 of 7 kingdoms, Vale, Riverlands, North

    • jon dunn

      The Freys have the Riverlands.

Littlefinger has Harrenhall which is a large castle, but that’s not the main stronghold of the Riverlands – Riverrun was when the Tullys had it, and now it is the Twins

      • hockeyfan182

Nope, Littlefinger is Lord Paramount of the Trident, it doesn’t matter which castle have.

  • hockeyfan182

bronn storyline = arys oakheart storyline

Between the very very weird samwise gamgee voicemail that slipped through the cracks somehow, and the “Surprise motherf’er” sound byte, this is very easily hands down the best feedback show ever.

  • Josh Wigler

For the record, I just re-listened to the “surprise” and died laughing all over again. Have not laughed that hard in a very long time, and never that hard on the air. Damn it, Doakes!

    • Brendan Fitzpatrick

it was truly, an amazing moment. and very, very, SURPRISE-ing. Expecting one thing, got something completely different.

    • MinkDeaner05

That really did take a turn in a hilarious direction, didn’t it Josh? Huge fan, can’t wait for your return to the show.

  • GeekFurious

Samwise Gamgee… Roid Robin… Doakes… both Rob and Josh confused about Stannis while pretending to not understand why a naked Sand Snake was the most important moment in the entire series… very weird and awesome episode.

  • Angie

On Stannis/Melisandre/Shireen…they’ve set up a scenario where Melisandre colludes with Selyse to sacrifice Shireen and Stannis/Davos will avenge Shireen by murdering Melisandre/Selyse. It’s also interesting to note that in Greek Mythology, this is exactly what King Agamemnon does in order to appease Poseidon and gain a favorable wind to sail for Troy…He does sacrifice his daughter, the winds ease up, the Greeks sail for Troy, win, and when he goes home, Agamemnon’s wife kills him in a bathtub for murdering their daughter…

    • Chlsea_1905

      this scenario would be amazing

    • swift00001

I like the theory. Somewhere along the line brienne has to squeeze into the mix, with her wanting to avenge renly. She might not kill stan but theyll cross paths b4 se5 wraps up

  • jon dunn

Is Rob forgetting that Stannis needed to save the Wall? That’s why he is north of Winterfell and is now coming down from the North to take Winterfell.

  • Pink Pearl

I think every episode should feature a random Doakes drop.

  • RadaRada

On the High Sparrow, I’m pretty sure that he knew about Cersei’s incestuous activities from the start. Remember after Sparrows first picked up Loras for questioning, when Tommen showed up to try and speak to the High Sparrow. He was stopped at the entrance and the people outside were yelling at Tommen, calling him an abomination and stuff. It seems that Tommen’s parentage is pretty common knowledge among the people, and I’m pretty sure the High Sparrow would know since he is a “man of the people.” Question is: Was he holding onto this card for the right moment to play it, or did he just want more solid evidence first, which he got fromLancel.

  • Matt The Golem

Rob’s right, Reek is beyond redemption. And, he’s probably seen Ramsay rape women before (and do even worse, like hunting them down with dogs). Reek’s tears during the ‘wedding night’ might have been for himself.

    • MinkDeaner05

I don’t really think Reek is beyond redemption. He’s certainly made some mistakes like turning on the Starks, but if you look at Theon as a character, he comes into the show with divided loyalties. IT’s not like he actually killed Bran/Rickon in any case.

And I know I’m probably gonna get a lot of flack for this, but I’d say what Reek has been through has been a whole lot worse than what Sansa has. At least she hasn’t been dismembered or flayed at all, and still has her identity.

Where dat Book Club 5×07 be at?

  • GeekFurious

    High Sparrow’s explanation to Cersei:

“A young man came to us, not long ago… broken in body and spirit… he had so much to strip away… so much weighing him down. But piece by piece he unburdened himself. Let go of vanity, pride, sin… now his soul is so light, he will float to through Seven Heavens like a bird. And he has much to say about you.”

I think the “piece by piece” bit is the show’s out for why it took this long for them to bring charges against her. He had given her a chance to repent with him earlier in the season and she had dismissed him, so he confessed the rest of his burden to the High Sparrow.

  • Meren Roberts

Josh, you mentioned at start of this feedback show that you’ve already recorded the book club for this episode. But I can’t find it. Am I being blind or has it not been posted yet?

  • MinkDeaner05

Great show you guys, love listening every week. But you forgot the hashtag for this episode, I think it was between #ThroneAlone and #RoidRobin. I prefer ThroneAlone for the record. In other news, where’s the book club podcast? I can’t wait!
