I am loving the dissing on Geoffrey he did have such a douche bag role 😈

    • TrentC

The noises that Joffrey makes after Tyrion slaps him are hilarious…every.single.time. 🙂

Having seen the show (but not read the books) I thought it would be awkward with a non-spoiler bit as a first part of the podcasts, but I am really enjoying it. With it being 6 years ago since I saw these episodes, I can almost enjoy them as if it is the first time I am watching them. So thumbs up for the two perspectives :D.

The dagger storyline still makes NO sense, because if it was indeed Littlefinger, his plot nearly got Catelyn killed. I have to imagine that amongst his scheming, he would have said “protect Catelyn at all costs.” In the books Joffrey steals the dagger, one of his father’s out of his the Kingsguard’s weapon stores and sends the catspaw, presumably to impress his parents. It’s also pretty incredible that Catelyn takes the dagger directly to Littlefinger, instead of the small council where the King or Barristan Selmy would have been able to identify it.

    • TrentC

Agreeing with your points and I’m a book reader too. The thing that doesn’t make sense about Joffrey sending the catspaw to kill Bran is why? He wouldn’t have known what Bran saw. I may be remembering wrong, but I thought the books implied that Cersei or Jaime could have sent the guy.

For Catelyn’s actions, I think she didn’t trust anyone in the south, and of course knew Littlefinger from childhood so she entrusted him with the dagger when she got to the big city.

The killer does say “You aren’t supposed to be here,” which leads me to believe that the plan was that no one but Bran was supposed to die.

You guys are going to run into a lot of problems applying old season logic to the late seasons. This dagger is just the start.

Oh man, just seeing the picture reminds me of what a dick Jaime was in the first two seasons.

    • TrentC

That picture almost makes it look like Jaime is wearing a current leather jacket (lambskin of course) and a jaunty scarf. Even the long hair looks a little out of place…full disclosure, I like the character of Jaime Lannister and think that if you remove the horrible thing he did to Bran, he’s a pretty brave guy with some strong morals. He saved Brienne in the bearpit and went headfirst (on horseback) right at that dragon after seeing it roast half of the countryside. Leaving Cersie and heading north alone is a defining moment for Jaime, I enjoyed his most recent scene quite a bit.

      • J-me not Hi-me

You do not have to defend Jaime Lannister to me, I love him. And not just because we spell our names the same way. 🙂

Also, I certainly wish he hadn’t pushed Bran out the window, but I never thought it made him horrible. It was one little boy dies or he, Cersei and all three of their children die. Killing his own cousin so he could escape was more of a dick move to me.

        • TrentC

Yes he’s a rather pragmatic fellow at times lol!

My future dream scene that will probably never happen. Cersei finally goes right off the deep end and Jaime recognizes she’s a lunatic.

He meets up with Brienne and needs some consoling. Cut to post bedroom romp scene and he’s having a smoke while Brienne plays with his hair 🙂

          • J-me not Hi-me

I will go down with that ship. 🙂

          • TrentC

I’ve been sincerely hoping for Tormund and Brienne to have a happy ending. In that instance I’ll take a scene where Jaime saves Brienne’s life with an unselfish act before he dies.

I’m usually not so romance orientated, but Tormund just looking at Brienne in past scenes cracks me up. He won’t stop pursuing her despite how she treats him, and I hope her resolve is like The Wall. Part of it comes down…

          • J-me not Hi-me

I’m also down for Tarthbane. Or Brienne and the Hound, after their little interaction in the finale…basically I just ship Brienne/happiness.

          • TrentC

            Or Brod…Brienne and Poderick!

He does have a way with the ladies.
