As a Canadian who didn’t get American TV channels until the mid 80s, I had no idea who Merv Griffin was when this aired. For awhile I thought it was a local N.Y. show or just made up by the writer.

I liked how George came into Kramer’s apartment with the squirrel in a baby-bjorn.

Elaine wants Sidler to stop using Tic Tacs because she is eating them when Peterman enters her office. He thinks that she is the one making all the Tic Tac noises.

Someone’s email already mentioned that this episode has no scenes in Jerry’s apartment. There have been other episodes that were in different settings (the Hamptons, LA, Florida), but is this the first one that takes place in New York but doesn’t show Jerry’s apartment?

At the end of the podcast Rob should have said to Akiva “I have to let you go.”

The Chinese Restaurant in season 2 is one in New York that I know didn’t have a scene in Jerry’s apartment.

      • Hornacek

Good catch! I forgot about that one. I guess this episode is noteworthy is that the characters get so close to Jerry’s apartment more than once, but do not go inside it.

There was also The Parking Garage in season 2 and Akiva’s favourite episode The Puerto Rican Day Parade in season 9.

          • Hornacek

Ah man, now it’s gonna turn out that there’s probably 50 episodes before this one that take place in NY that don’t show Jerry’s apartment.

Well, this is the only one with a scene in Jerry’s building that doesn’t have a scene in Jerry’s apartment.

(sits back and waits for response of 10 other episodes that do this)

I love how now that no new listeners are allowed in, Rob has just moved on to reviewing things that have nothing to do with Seinfeld.

Count me out on the dog thing for the finale. I hate dogs so much.

Also Keev, Vancouver and LA are not close to each other at all. It’s a 20 hour drive with no breaks.

I have to completely disagree with both of you on the Sidler story line. I’ll even go as far to say that he is the most notable one time action character in the series. Sidling up on someone has become such a thing. I Sidle up on people all the time. I sidled up to a co-worker while I was listening to this podcast! I told him “Sorry I sidled up on you” and his response was of course “What is sidling?”
