where was pete davidson???? did chris really hurt him during the monologue? also would the cold open have been better with a guest? and i called it on will ferrel not being by the good byes rich!

also rich, they seemed to have more sketches totaling 9, and some were long, there were 5 pre update, how could it be there was too little

  • AndyMcGill

Two thirds of the early part of the show was about Trump. SNL needs writers who have original ideas. Why does Weekend Update repeat the very same jokes that earlier sketches already made?

Michael Che could be good in another show, but on SNL he is just a black skin for the white writers to use to tell their race jokes. More than half his jokes couldn’t be told by someone with white skin. Very amateur for the 2010’s.

  • Charles Bikle

I agree with you guys about this week being phoned-in with the writers building up for next week (wonder how C-Hemmy feels about that ?).

I wanted to like the pirate sketch, because Rudnitski is definitely the underdog of SNL this season), but aside from this sketch, I didn’t feel there were any other bombs, just sketches that were underachievers.

Not really a rap fan, so didn’t think much good or bad about Chance the Rapper, although he did do that one annoyingly narcissistic thing most rappers are prone to – he rapped about himself and his current success. However James’ insight on Chance and his humble background, made me think a little better of him.
