Was it just me, or did the ship we saw in the opening have the “USS” logo on it? Last episode they changed their logo to ISS to fit in, so I thought this was a flashback, or the MU Discovery in the prime universe having changed their logo to blend in, just like the other Discovery did. But it turned out that this was our Discovery, soon after last episode. Was this just a goof on the show’s part?

I’m not sure if the other Stamets in the spore-network astral plane is the MU Stamets; he is wearing a different uniform. It kinda reminded me of the Starfleet uniforms from the TNG episode where the Enterprise B comes through the wormhole from the past and changes the present where the Federation is at war with the Klingons. I don’t know if that’s just a coincidence or not.

If Tyler is going to remain on the show, I suspect we might have the Tyler part of his personality trying to assert itself (helped by his love for Burnham), battling the Voq personality.

As far as the non-humans forming a cooperative “federation”, according to the first MU episode of DS9, Spock was able to change the empire after the TOS Mirror, Mirror episode into a more accepting and peaceful organization. But this left them open for the alien federation to take them over. This is why in the DS9 MU episodes, humans are the lower class and aliens (Bajorans, Klingons, etc) are in charge. So don’t be so quick to say that the group in this episode led by Voq are the “good guys” – once they get the chance, they will turn just as ruthless as the empire.

  • Well, this is my second podcast since I finally got caught up with this new show. I did listen to the first one and will find the time to go back and hear them all. But what I really wanted to say about it all is just that I think I’ve died and gone to heaven, seriously. Its been so many years since I’ve found a ST series that has me this excited, and I don’t think I ever heard Rob podcast about a Star Trek series. Every call you guys make, from the Klingons not needing the update to the fact that why aren’t there cameras in these different rooms, to all the jokes.. I could almost cry tears of joy its such a trekkie RHAP girl dream come true. Jessica as always is just a perfect podcast partner for you Rob and Jeremiah was great too. My only and biggest regret is not getting on board the minute I found out this would be a podcast. THANK YOU!!!

I completely missed it, and I’m surprised no one commented on it, but MU-Sarek had a goatee, just like MU-Spock in “Mirror, Mirror”.
