If it was the comic, I would have expected that the baby would have been given to the walkers, but there was no way that was happening on TV. 3) Allowing the baby to come along to the Hilltop and arranging a prisoner exchange to get her daughter back were very un-Alpha-like behaviors (although the latter could be part of a “plan”). 4) Just when it seemed like Henry’s stock couldn’t plummet and further, he found a way to become even more of a moron. My dream is to see a Whisperer wearing a mask made from his face before the season is over. 5) Enid’s stock actually rose with her handling of the Henry debacle. 6) Negan where are you? 7) The writing has been more thoughtful since the new show runner has joined. 3 examples: 1) the false memories of Lydia, in telling the story one way and then revealing it as actually being something completely different 2) the revelation of why Carol wore her hair short and 3) the survivor’s “Bill of Rights” scroll and the side-mission within a side-mission to obtain the movie poster frame for it. It feels like the show is getting closer to what it once was, at times. Morty I just came to hear Rob’s meltdown over how ridiculous Henry is. That said, Henry desperately needs executing by his captors…or by anyone, really. Matthew Murphy It’s the only good thing about having Henry on the show. Matthew Murphy I think Alpha is a really cool villain. She feels like a lost Hantz sibling and I enjoy her even more through that lense. J-me not Hi-me The sequence where Connie rescued the baby is the most intense TWD has been in a long time. J-me not Hi-me Unpopular opinion: Henry isn’t stupid, he’s just a teenager. That’s the problem with being the one teen on an otherwise adult show (see Crusher, Wesley.) Rob’s rants are always hilarious but they make me wonder what would happen if he was recapping, say, Buffy, where they were all the same age and making reckless choices. Though I will say that it’s shocking to me that Carol raised someone so sheltered as to not understand that going after the crazy skin-wearing group is a suicide mission. Pink Pearl It’s funny, I never got into Buffy (or Dawson’s Creek, 90210, or Veronica Mars) because I didn’t enjoy teenagers when I WAS a teenager let alone now. But yes, you’re 100% correct — he’s no stupider than the average teenager. (Carl, who had this same story in the comics, behaved exactly this stupidly.) And it does totally beggar belief that he’d be this guileless when Carol raised him. Agent__Zigzag Of the 4 shows you mentioned I think Buffy & Veronica Mars are head+shoulders above the other 2. As well as most teen centered, marketed, focused, etc shows that have aired in the last 20 years. Always a treat when you, Rob, or other #RHAP contributors/guests chime in with comments. Thanks for making these podcasts for all if us fans out here/out there. P.S. please do a Walking Dead Comic catch up episode with Josh! It’s been so long since I’ve been able to read any from my local library. It’s driving me [email protected]#!%* nuts.
