The Walking Dead | Season 9, Episode 2 Recap: “The Bridge”

Rob Cesternino and Jessica Liese recap season 9, episode 2 of The Walking Dead entitled “The Bridge.”

  • Bry_Lander

Why in the world would someone be flying a helicopter around in complete darkness in the ZA?

    • Pink Pearl

There’s no reason that isn’t shady AF!

      • Bry_Lander

Shady and risky – no city lights, no lights on towers and antennas, no lit helipads (maybe), so good luck putting the copter back down again safely!

  • Matthew Murphy

I hope it’s Tobias flying the garbage copter. He was the only good kid in either TWD show.

  • XmanIce

Although I think it’s dangerous to keep Negan alive I do believe keeping him alive in a dark cage for the rest of his life is more agonizing for him than death. They should only feed him enough dog food to stay alive though.

  • Matthew Murphy

It’s interesting that Michonne basically spend the episode trying to get Maggie to get Wakan… I mean the Hill Top to help others.

    • XmanIce

I see what you did there, lol

  • Agent__Zigzag

Wasn’t Michonne a lawyer pre zombie apocalypse? Figure that makes her most qualified to start common law/constitutional convention talks. Really hope that Jessica & Josh are able to do some Comic book specific podcasts. I’m way behind on the graphic novels because hard to get ahold of through library. Wanna know more about Georgie/Commonwealth.

  • James Griffin

I try not to complain too much with the show, but the garbage lady’s grammar certainly has improved.

    • XmanIce

I know, out of curiosity I would like her to explain the garbage people in general and why Negan didn’t mess with them.

    • Bry_Lander

Jadis was leading a counter-culture that had its own way of life, rituals and dialect. When she said bizarre things like “I will lay with him after” about Rick, that is indicative of some established cultural norm that evolved in the ZA. After the garbage people were introduced to the garbage compactor, did she just suddenly switch it all off? She could return to normalcy immediately?

  • Just Joe

I’m pretty worried about The Whispers story because the best stuff in that arch involves Rick and Negan and they won’t be able to do any of that because Rick will be gone.

  • Bry_Lander

ZA reality check – as much as I like the characters of Jerry and Nabila, it would be impossible at this point in the ZA for anyone to be overweight. The colonies are equivalent to 3rd world egalitarian villages, where food is fanatically rationed and calories are meticulously delved out – no one is overeating at this point…

    • Pink Pearl

Some people would naturally have more padding than others, though, and they probably HAVE lost weight. I think this same conversation happened regarding Hurley on Lost more than a few times.

  • J-me not Hi-me

Jess, I don’t think Carol made Henry run back to give her a kiss: when she said “Aren’t you forgetting something?” she was actually referring to his staff. He kissed her and she was basically like “That’s nice, I meant don’t go off unarmed.” Which seems like a perfectly Carol reaction. 🙂
