Yippie. Matthew Murphy Do you guys think it’s possible Heath got picked up by the helcopter people? When one of our characters gets taken there we could have Heath there, similar to Cindy the flight attendant in LOST. Pink Pearl I’ve seen that theory around and I think it’s plausible. If they are leaving the door open for Corey Hawkins to come back at some point, I imagine that’s the story they will tell. Morty Just listened, and the keys were to some sort of makeshift gun locker there at the worksite. If you watch again, you can see the butts/stocks of the guns in some sort of rack before Carol closes and locks the door. It’s a quick visual, though. Pink Pearl Thank you for spotting that! Matthew Murphy Angela Kang having to make something out of the garbage people reminds me of JJ Abrams having to sail the ship home after Rian Johnson crashed it into an iceberg. aardvarkratnik Well now that I know what happens to Rick there’s not much point watching anymore. Pretty schmaltzy what with the white steed and all. I’ll watch the rest of the season and then it’s out of my pvr unless they get Negan the hell out of that cell and doing something other than pounding his head against a wall. Most shows know when to wrap it up and end, this one doesn’t, it seems to have the mentality of a daytime soap opera and I don’t intend to watch for years and years. Morty Geez, Daryl, first you get Glen killed, and now your shenanigans gets Rick killed! With friends like you… Matthew Murphy Possible show spoiler, but this was from an article I read over the break. I just remembered that Jon Bernthal was supposed to reprise his role as Shane. I imagine we’re getting Shane in the Rick dream sequences. He better rub his head at least 5 times or it just won’t be the same. Pink Pearl You can see Shane briefly in the previews so this isn’t a total spoiler. That’s one of the reasons I thought we might be getting an entire episode of hallucinations before Rick gets eaten or otherwise expires. Regardless, I’m definitely here for it. And for all the headrubs. Matthew Murphy Yeah I thought he might be featured in the preview, I didn’t watch it too closely, I was still in shock that that’s how they choose to kill off of the biggest TV characters of the 2010’s. Bry_Lander I thought I heard that Scott Wilson / Hershel was supposed to make an appearance this season as well, RIP. Matthew Murphy Must’ve been filmed a few months before he passed. One of my favourite scenes on the show in years. Bry_Lander 1. I like Jess’s theory that the current writers are attempting to housekeep some of the previous writer’s sloppiness with the garbage people (undoubtedly the worst divergence from the comic for the series). 2. I think the writers did a good job with Michonne’s interaction with Negan, given it was supposed to be an impressionable teenage Carl who snuck down there and talked to him. 3. There are times this season when the gushing over Judith seems way over the top, but then all things considered, if you had to raise a kid in such a volatile and uncertain environment, maybe you would tend to go overboard with attention and affection? 4. The writers love, love, love to have Rick and Daryl fight. 5. If Jadis / Ann wanted to kill Gabriel, but still had feelings for him, why wouldn’t she just kill him in a conventional way? Why did it ever seem like a good idea to her to have her walker terrify and then bite him? 6. Related to nothing – why aren’t walker sniffing dogs a thing in the ZA? Wouldn’t it make sense to have trained dogs that will alert you in some way when walkers are approaching? (They would have to be trained not to bark, of course). Pink Pearl There are almost no dogs in the ZA, which I think I’d chalk up to zombies** having eaten most of them and no group having enough roots down to be able to care for, feed, and train a pet. (You’d have thought the Saviors would have dogs if anyone did.) But hey, they have horses now, so maybe dogs are next. It sounds like a pretty tall order to train a dog to do all of that, but you’d think they’d at least have one around as a mascot at some point. **and also humans, as depicted on the show in at least one memorable scene that I don’t like to think about.
