The Walking Dead Season 7, Episode 2 Recap | The Well

Rob Cesternino (@RobCesternino) is away, Josh Wigler (@RoundHoward) summons Alex Kidwell (@AlexKidwell) to answer questions from the Post Show Recaps listeners about Season 7, Episode 2 of The Walking Dead, “The Well.”

Join us LIVE at 10:15 pm ET on Sunday for our recap of the next episode.

The hockey/catcher gear is kind of cheesy and wouldn’t stop a bullet or a knife, but it likely would stop a zombie bite!

  • Andiamo

I’m guessing Ben’s father and the rest of Ezekiel’s people were killed and/or taken by Negan. I can understand wanting to teach Ben to kill walkers to help keep him alive, but why take him out on missions when they’re meeting Negan’s people? This seems unnecessarily dangerous.

ok what the heck, a pet tiger?!

Question: Does Daryl even know Carol left Alexandria? As I recall it, Daryl and Rosita decided to go after Dwight to avenge Denise and were already gone when Rick and Morgan went to find Carol.

    • TrentC

Thanks. I have no idea where Tara is…any ideas?

      • J-me not Hi-me

She and Heath were going on a supply run, and I think said they’d be gone for a few weeks. They left right from the Negan compound massacre.

        • TrentC

I recall when they left and was wondering why we haven’t checked in with them yet. I know the actress playing Tara was pregnant during the latter half of season six.

Poor Heath, going on a ‘supply run’ for weeks 🙁

  • Edwin Johnson

My thought when King Zeke knocks on Carol’s door at the end.

  • Edwin Johnson

Also, there is no “getting the zombie virus”. Everyone is already infected. Even with bites the issue seems to be the wound itself and a possible ramped up (and “real”) komodo dragon effect. Eating animals that consume rotting flesh is not necessarily going to make a person sick, but I would still cook the hell out of those particular pigs. My guess is this play is just the ultimate passive aggressive swipe (swine?).

    • TrentC

A friend and I were arguing the other night about this lol!

We know that people are all pre-infected from the CDC guy’s whisper to Rick waaay back in season one.

The argument was – Who turns faster…someone who was bitten by a zombie or someone who dies of other causes? I said the zombie bite is the speedier turn, she says people turn faster after dying from things like falls or heart attacks.

Do we have any proof? Thanks

      • Andiamo

I think it’s about the same time. When someone is bitten, it takes them a while to die from the infection, but once they die they turn quickly. Those who have been bitten but die from blood loss (rather than just the infection) also turn right away. Andrea’s sister Amy comes to mind.

There was that man who was dying (of something natural, but I can’t remember what) in Woodbury who the scientist was monitoring. He turned immediately after he died.

Also, I don’t know if we can count Fear the Walking Dead, but the father who died of a heart attack at the wedding turned so fast he bit his daughter’s face off when she tried to give him CPR. That was the fastest, but that show is nuts.

        • TrentC

I remember Andrea’s sister and how it seemed to take a long time after being bit. I also remember and love the Bob-B-Q scene.

The rules do seem to change with each instance.

We can’t count anything from Fear The Walking Dead just out of respect 🙂

Is The Walking Dead Book Club, which we had last season was canceled?

    • J-me not Hi-me

No, Josh explained that they’re taking a break because Jessica just had a baby.

  • I was out on Ezekiel right up until he dropped the facade with Carol, and Carol dropped her facade (as much as i love fake sweet Carol). That was a really good scene, he explained perfectly why he acts like he does. So from then on I felt he’s someone I can get behind. I do think the tiger is pretty silly though tbh.

    • TrentC

      tiger – 372
      walkers – 0

I felt the same Matt. Not having read the comics I initially thought Ezekiel was way too far over the top and didn’t seem like a survivor. Once he explained who he was it made more sense.

Who do you guys think will be Shiva’s first kill on screen??
I’m personally hoping for one of the douche Saviors, like Dwight!
Or just a bunch of Saviors in one go! xD
    That would be Awesome.

Jerry’s also my new favorite….hopefully he manages to survive this season at least…

Is it possible that this season is heading toward a Negan vs King Ezekiel Showdown? If so, who would win in that situation….would Ezekiel and Shiva survive Negan and The Saviors? I have a sinking feeling that Negan might take over The Kingdom by the end of the season….and be crowned King Negan! >_<
