I think the guy at the end was one of the women from Ocean View.

    Question: I
    1) It seems Neegan had another agenda to see Rick other than to take Eugene. All that build up last episode just for Neegan to MENTION that Carl came to his camp?

    2) Why does no one have patience? Why is Rosita so set on shooting Neegan with that one bullet… AND she missed! Smh

    3) Did Rick give all the guns to Neegan? It looked like a few boxes were missing from the truck after the run.

    4) Whats the group gonna do now when Neegan finds that Daryl is gone AND that he liked fat Joey?

    5) Neegan employee Ahmed… did she just not like the baby sitter? Out of all the people to shoot….you shoot someone expendable smh.

    6) Was I the only one wanting to cry when Daryl and Rick reunited? My Bromance is back!

    7) Do you guys think Carol will go back to killing when she finds out what happened to Glen? Or will this make her more secluded?

    • J-me not Hi-me

I assumed that Arat killed Olivia as a sort of additional fuck you to Rosita. “BTW, THIS is how you draw your gun and shoot in one motion. Note that the person I wanted to kill was farther away, and they’re actually dead.”

      • Katrice Howard

Hmmm nice point. Is it Arat? Ok I got her name all wrong.

        • J-me not Hi-me

I had to look it up on IMDb. :)

    • TrentC

      1. I think it may be more simple than appeared. He just wanted Rick to see him sitting in Rick’s home. Eating his food, using his razor and giving Lucille a place at the dinner table. More psychological warfare.

      2. Maybe it’s like Rob mentioned. It’s been only a week or so since Glenn and Abraham were killed, so people are still living in the hurt/revenge/anger mode.

      3. I thought the same. I hope Rick and Aaron stopped somewhere and hid some of the guns.

      4. This is what’s going to really set Negan off. When he discovers that Daryl has escaped.

      5. Perhaps Amet, Ahmed, Arat (?), doesn’t know the Alexandria people very well and saw someone next to Carl, and picked her as the most likely target.

      6. I thought the same.

      7. I believe once Carol finds out about Glenn and Abraham…it’s on!!!

  • Morty

Why does Negan dislike weasels and like those who loathe him? “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” Negan will always know where Rick’s head is…but he would never know where a weasel’s head is…and Spencer was clearly a weasel.

    • Matt The Golem

But at other times Negan kills his enemies.

  • Craig

    So some thoughts

Why did we have that whole “Negan making himself at home” thing and him holding Rick’s baby if it wasn’t going to pay off at all? Why do we have to have these hour and change long episodes if there are going to be scenes that don’t pay off like that one?

Negan killing Spencer is another reason why I just have so much trouble liking him. His character motivations are all over the place. He wants subservience from so many people but for Rick I feel like he just likes hanging him over the cliff, pulling him back, and then hanging him over the cliff again. He’s just playing one big “I’m not touching you” game with Rick. It makes no sense and it’s getting old.

The killing of Spencer and Olivia just made no sense. Why did that one Savior kill her? Why not anyone else? I know that’s the whole point of Negan’s kills in these situations, that they are suppose to be random, but I don’t like that as a plot device.

This half season ended on a whimper. Too much time wasted on story lines like Tara and Darryl. This episode was better because we got a lot of stories at one time. TWD needs more of that. I’ll end this by reposting a post I made in the feedback show from last week, simply because I’m so proud of myself that I predicted it so correctly.

“I thought of something in regards to what Spencer might be doing. I
think Spencer might be trying to pull sort of a Philippe Pétain Vichy
France type move, where he agrees to collaborate with Negan and be a
puppet leader of Alexandria in exchange for Negan killing Rick. The food
is an offer in the way of making that happen.”

  • Hi boys!! Long time since I commented (though I’ve been listening) but really– this season has been crap for the most part and I’m sure uninspiring though you’ve tried. But as this episode was so much better… this podcast was soooooooo funny!!! Like gut-renchingly funny (see what I did with the guts there? Negan’s not the only clever one). But truly your comedy does not go unnoticed and unappreciated. Thank you and thank goodness TWD are getting on track here. Too bad it was the very last episode until April or whenever but I’ll take it. So is this it until… GoT? Or maybe a new show? Would love to know maybe in the feedback show. Thanks again.

    • Thank you so much, Laura. TWD should be back in February so it’s not THAT long.

      • Yay!! Glad to know.

        • J-me not Hi-me

February 13, per Hardwick on TTD.

  • Katrice Howard

It’s because Spencer went behind Ricks back while Rick was gone. That’s why Neegan killed him. How can you offer loyalty to one man while going behind the back of the other man your supposed to loyal to. As a leader, that’s a big no no. It’s like Josh being Rob’s leader on the podcast and while Josh is gone, Rob goes to Alex and pitches a deal to take over postshow recaps. Rob clearly isn’t loyal to Josh so chances are he won’t be loyal to Alex either.

    • sunny

if they cheat *with* you, they’ll cheat *on* you

  • TrentC

I had to laugh remembering one of Rob’s questions from an earlier podcast a couple of weeks ago. “So, were you waiting for Spencer to die this episode?”

Loved the beginning of the podcast with Josh sitting there in person smiling. Coupled with my man Alex, this was a good trifecta of commentators for TWD.

Did anyone notice that Rick hugged Daryl longer than Maggie and with more feeling? Talk about knowing your worth in the pecking order.

  • J-me not Hi-me

Deanna and Reg seemed smart and reasonable. How did their sons both turn out to be such shit heads?

    • Katrice Howard

Right! I liked Spencer’s approach tho. Just not the “getting rid of Rick” part.

      • J-me not Hi-me

Right!? For a minute there I thought he was actually making a smart political move, bringing the whiskey over and being friendly. And then he just kept talking.

  • BearMustaine

I have a feeling that mystery boot was one of the whisperers..

    • Joel Rainey

      I’m going to say Dwight

      • Katrice Howard

Mmmm that’s a good one. I was thinking of someone from Oceanside/View

        • J-me not Hi-me

          Another group from the comics.

  • TrentC

I only have one at most…:)

On the podcast they asked if Jesus may have given Daryl the note and the key to escape. As they’re leaving, Daryl tells Jesus – I’ve got the key – as he’s starting his motorcycle. It implies Jesus didn’t know.

I’m going to go way out on a limb and say that Dwight gave Daryl the key..those were heavy footsteps outside the door.

  • realtrinilostgirl2007

I think the boots belong to Sir Richard bc in his last scene in that hiding place, i looked at his shoes and its the same as the “mystery boots” with mud on them. Also Sir Richard seems capable of fighting etc.

  • Lance Davis

At first, I kept thinking the episode title of TWD mid-season finale was “Hearts On Fire”, like Rocky IV. Which would’ve paralleled quite nicely, if you imagine Rick as Rocky Balboa, & Negan as Ivan Drago…I’m just sayin’– https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SUzcDUERLo

  • Megan

Are we getting a MSF feedback show sometime? I know Rob has been super busy with Survivor finale and all, but I’m just wondering if we are going to get one sometime? Pretty please? :D
